Woman Daily Stems Gallery Group Exhibition

The representation of fashion in painting, is to bring one universe into another, each inspired and influenced by the other. Art and fashion are part of our daily lives. An outfit will interpret what we are in a moment, a style that identifies us during our life, and art appropriates it and makes its own interpretation. Woman Daily, is an exhibition that brings together the works of international women artists, both emerging and established, illustrating the reflection of a precise moment of our present, like a fraction of our own era.

Through their singular approach, each artist leads us to discover a contemplative atmosphere where a strong feminine sensitivity and intimacy emerge. A universe of their own, where they are influenced by fashion, society, and their behavior in their daily life.

It is through the colors, the lines, and shapes balancing and resolving, creating a triggering feeling in Yuan Fang’s canvas, as for Laure Mary-Cougénias’ flowing patterns that emerge a preponderant freedom and lightness visual sensation.

Particular attention is devoted to the artistic interpretation of the still life. A focus on iconic pieces and designs, unanimated, and organized in a certain way within the framework provides symbolic meaning to the perception of our era. We encounter it in the bodies rolled up in a sensual vinyl dress by Sally Kinberg, with hip-hop symbols from Rebecca Maria’s universe, and in the well-known recognizable sneaker model in a soft melancholy touch by Helena Margret Jonsdottir.

The artworks of Nihura Monthiel and Coady Brown, convey a fragility that is powerful in their individual meanings. The shapes of Nihura’s objects emphasize the subject in their own distinctive way, while the floral and daring aesthetics of Coady Brown’s bouquet remind us that each of these still lives have a period of existence. Just as we do as individuals, a Moment Mori in its own contemporary way.

It is also the extravagance by which we define fashion in our lifestyles. This extravagance is fully reflected in the work of Allison Zuckerman. The characters are in a kind of excess, where lust and sarcastic bourgeois style are trapped in a pop-cartoon universe, aspiring us to be part of their dazzling reunion, curious about their world. In this extravagance, but in a more fantastic and enchanted contrast, Giulia Messina dives us into a scene where she depicts herself, embraced by a fairy-like dress. It seems that she has fallen into her own unreal picnic, though based on a real-life scene. Organizing parties herself, inviting her close friends to come and dress up in their finest attire and enjoy an unforgettable feast. Therefore, this staging becomes her main source of inspiration.

Ellie Pratt’s work is distinguished by this feminine figure, in an undefined and mysterious place. A form of tension operates where the light vacillates in these patterns that frame this stylized woman. She gives an attitude and thus interprets a version of the independent woman from western society.

We convey, as viewers, from one artistic interpretation to the other, as a witness of our time, existence, and style.
