BIOGRAPHY

Salomé Chatriot is an avant-garde artist who masterfully blends technology with the organic, crafting spaces where electronic sculptures and digital art coexist harmoniously. Born in Paris, France, in 1995, Chatriot has established herself in both Lausanne, Switzerland, and her hometown, building a bridge between physical and virtual realms. Her unique approach activates mechanical processes through the natural rhythms of the body, such as breathing and heartbeat, fostering a symbiotic relationship between the human form and technological innovation.

Chatriot's artistic pursuit is not just a mere acceptance of technology but a passionate exploration of its potential to deepen our intimate connections with it. Her work delves into themes of identity, gender, and sexuality, featuring a strong erotic element that challenges prevailing narratives. With a background in Media and Interaction Design from the University of Arts and Design of Lausanne (ECAL), where she earned both her Bachelor's and Master's degrees, Chatriot has developed a distinctive, hybrid language that is both unsettling and optimistic.

Her creations, ranging from the tactile to the virtual, aim to infuse technology with a poetic softness and the warmth of life, standing in stark contrast to the often impersonal nature of digital advancements. This ethos is reflected in her diverse body of work, which includes notable solo shows like "Calcium Thirst" at New Galerie, Paris, and group exhibitions such as "Lémaniana" at the Centre d'art Contemporain de Genève.

With a rich portfolio that extends to dynamic performances and collaborative projects, Chatriot continues to push the boundaries of art and technology. Her contributions to the art world have not gone unnoticed, with accolades such as the Siemens Ingenious Prize and the Opline Prize highlighting her innovative spirit and technical prowess.

As she navigates the evolving landscapes of art and technology, Salomé Chatriot remains a beacon for those seeking to understand and embrace the complex interplay between our digital and physical existences.
