BIOGRAPHY

Nick Doyle is a multidisciplinary artist whose practice spans sculpture, painting, mechanical motion, and video. Drawing inspiration from media, particularly film, television, and photography, Doyle considers visual media as a repository of narratives reflecting the cultural zeitgeist. He is intrigued by the insights these narratives offer into our collective identity and the freedoms they afford individuals. Doyle's work delves into the psychological landscape of media culture, exploring its impact on society.

Having earned his MFA in Sculpture from Hunter College in 2013 and his BFA in Interdisciplinary Arts from the San Francisco Art Institute, Doyle has showcased his art nationally and internationally. He has held solo exhibitions at esteemed venues such as Stems Gallery in Brussels, the Kentucky Museum of Art and Craft in Louisville, and Perrotin in New York, Seoul, and Paris, among others. His work has also been featured in group exhibitions at prominent galleries including Mrs. Gallery, Venus Over Manhattan, and Anton Kern Gallery in New York, as well as Gana Art Sounds in Seoul and UTA Artist Space in Los Angeles.

Doyle's artistic journey has been further enriched by residencies at the Lower Manhattan Cultural Council's workspace program from 2014 to 2017. In recognition of his talent and potential, he was awarded the C12 emerging artist fellowship upon completing his MFA in 2013.
