MARIANA OUSHIRO
Volery Gallery is proud to introduce V-Residency, our newly launched artist residency program, with its inaugural resident, Mariana Oushiro. As an artist whose practice explores materiality, abstraction, and spatial dynamics, Oushiro embodies the spirit of innovation and experimentation that defines V-Residency.
A New Residency for a New Contemporary Wave
At Volery Gallery, we are dedicated to fostering the voices shaping the contemporary art landscape. Our mission with V-Residency is to provide artists with an immersive environment where they can experiment, refine their practice, and engage with a global art network. Dubai’s dynamic cultural scene, positioned at the crossroads of tradition and futurism, offers a unique backdrop for artists to push boundaries, challenge narratives, and create meaningful work that resonates internationally.
V-Residency is designed to be more than just a space for creation—it is a catalyst for artistic growth, cross-disciplinary dialogue, and global visibility. Through mentorship, curatorial support, and access to cutting-edge resources, we empower artists to take bold steps in their practice while fostering deeper engagement with Dubai’s flourishing art community.
Mariana Oushiro: Our First Resident
During her time in Dubai, Mariana Oushiro will develop a new body of work, drawing inspiration from the city’s unique urban and cultural textures. With a practice deeply rooted in material exploration and spatial awareness, Oushiro will use this residency to expand her artistic language while engaging in critical discourse with fellow artists, curators, and collectors.
Shaping the Future of Art in Dubai
By launching V-Residency, Volery Gallery reaffirms its commitment to making Dubai a global hub for contemporary art. Through strategic collaborations and curated residencies, we aim to provide artists with the space, resources, and exposure needed to create work that challenges conventions and reaches an international audience.
