BIOGRAPHY

In Haeji Min’s paintings, the idiosyncratic anatomical transformed characters fluctuate between technological future bodies and organic figures experiencing the life cycle. Min marks their presence in controlled brush strokes using oil colours.

Her work has been exhibited in several exhibitions, including New Contemporaries 2021, South London Gallery, London (2021); Rites of Passage, Unit London, London (2021); Imagining Reality, Future Gallery, Berlin (2021); WoP, WOAW Gallery in collaboration with Avant Arte, Hong Kong (2021); Wo's Next, The Warehouse Gallery, Hong Kong (2021); Sprezzatura, The Spazioamanita in collaboration with Avant Arte, Florence (2021); Biennale Europeenne d’Art Contemporain , Galerie Daniel Vignal, France (2021): Ashurst Emerging Artist Prize 2020 Shortlist Exhibition, Ashurst, London (2020); The Social Art Award, Can Art Catalyze Change- Peaceful Revolutions, Berlin (2019); SWAP Edition No. 3: Artist as Machine, New Shoreditch Theatre, London (2017).

She was awarded the Herbert Seaborn Memorial Scholarship Prize and Higher Education Achievement Report, London (2019); Rome Art Programme Scholarship, Italy (2018); the Jackson Lewis Scholarship, London (2018) and the 1st National University Art Contest Special Prize, Seoul (2014).

In 2020, Haeji Min received a degree in Bachelor of Fine Arts from Slade School of Fine Art, University College London and is currently studying for a Master of Arts in Painting at Royal College of Art, London. Born in 1995 in Seoul, she currently lives and works between Seoul and London.
