BIOGRAPHY
Since 1986, Fabien Fryns has been active in the contemporary art scene as an art collector and advisor. In 2000 he discovered Chinese contemporary art and grew an interest in its thriving scene. He has relocated to Beijing in 2004, where he has shifted his focus towards established and emerging artists working in China.
He is the founder of Fabien Fryns Fine Art, established in 1995 primary as a gallery with locations in Marbella (1995–2004), Beijing (2005–2012) and Los Angeles (2006–2012) respectively. Now the company acts solely as advisors to private collectors, foundations and institutions and continues to advocate for established and emerging artists.
He has organised over 300 commercial exhibitions as well as notable institutional shows such as Jia Aili, CAC Malaga (2017); Zeng Fanzhi, Musée d´ Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris (2013); Zeng Fanzhi, National Gallery for Foreign Art, Sofia (2009) and China Gold, Musée Maillol, Paris (2008) among others.
Fryns received his Art History Major at Christie´s Education in London and International Baccalaureate in Business, Economics and Management at the European Business School in London. Born in Belgium in 1969, he currently lives and works in Beijing, China.
