BIOGRAPHY

Edyta Hul, a Warsaw-based visual artist, is celebrated for her innovative approach to oil and enamel on canvas. A distinguished alumna of the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk, Poland (2012), Edyta has made a significant impact in the art world both domestically and internationally. Her exhibitions span across Poland, Italy, Germany, Hungary, and Denmark, showcasing her unique multi-layered paintings that serve as personal and intimate reflections of her life experiences.

In 2023, Edyta achieved a prestigious milestone, winning the Grand Prix at the 46th Biennale of Painting, Bielska Jesień, in Poland. Her artistic journey includes notable residencies such as the Artist in Residence program Q21 at MuseumsQuartier in Vienna (2019) and the Pieńków Artist Residency (2018). Edyta's contributions to the arts have been recognized with scholarships from Poland’s Ministry of Culture and National Heritage (2020). Among her recent achievements is a solo exhibition at the National Gallery Zachęta's Project Room in Warsaw.

Edyta's work challenges conventional narrative roles in art, eschewing the human figure and shifting focus to elements typically relegated to the background or decoration. By elevating the undervalued aspects of her surroundings, she transforms them from mere objects to subjects, capturing their essence in her evolving painting techniques. Edyta Hul's art is a continuous exploration of technique and a testament to her commitment to redefining the narrative of visual storytelling.
