BIOGRAPHY
The works of Aleksey and Anton Tvorogov portray fragments of a fairy tale, using various mediums such as oil and acrylic paintings and sculptures. They use the languages of animation, comics, video games, book illustrations and puppet shows–the first visual languages that people learn and use to shape their worldview. Inspired by them, they create new characters and layout their world on different motives, without roles and entertaining storytelling. Here, what comes to the fore is not the story but the sensual relationship between the hero and the surrounding world and the revelation of the fragile but inseparable connection between fiction and reality.
Their work has been exhibited in solo exhibitions, including I Wish You a Fair Wind, Moosey Art, London (2021) and Tapir and Birdie, Artis Gallery, Winzavod Contemporary Art Center, Moscow (2019). Their work has also been included in several group exhibitions, such as Fresh, Padre Gallery, New York (2021); Nice guys live forever, Moosey Art, London (2021); It's About Time, Na Peschanoy Gallery, Moscow (2020); Happy Carousel…, Zdes na Taganke Gallery, Moscow(2020); Art is …, Artis Gallery, Moscow (2019); It Drives Me Crazy, Vadim Sidur Museum, Moscow (2018); Signs of Time, Belyaevo Gallery, Moscow (2018); Where Nobody Sees the Dreams: From Sacred Geography to No Place, Moscow Museum of Modern Art (2017); No Explanations Required, Poligraphichesky Tsech, Moscow(2017) and STARTinART, K35 Gallery, Moscow (2016).
